My name is Kat and I have been the owner, photographer and digital artist here at Focal Instincts Photography since 2008. Previously operated and located in Southern California for over 15 years, & now here in Colorado since 2022.
I love what I do!
I specialize in fine art portraiture capturing extraordinary people, pets and places. I love using my creativity in capturing who my client is, and exploring who they want to be. My fine art portraiture is artistically stylized and allows me to use any location as a playground and my imagination and state of the art software as my toys.

Specializing in environmental portraiture, I love getting to know my clients and photographing them in an environment that tells a story about who they are, where they live, work, rest or play. The location also helps to set the tone and mood of the photographs.Digital ArtistryProviding what I refer to as Digital Re-Creations, I am able take your vintage photographs that may or may not be worn and tattered and create a lovely heirloom quality painterly portriat.
